OKAY KAYA JOLENE FROM HER OWN PERSPECTIVE

The fiercely unique Okay Kaya has shared the second taste of her new concept album SAP, coming out on the 4th of November via Jagjaguwar. 'Jolene From Her Own Perspective' follows the explorative 'Spinal Tap' and continues to forefront Kaya's visionary lyricism atop of simple, complimentary guitar parts. Held in place by a ticking drum machine, the track imagines the response of the infamous Jolene of Dolly Parton fame, stating: 'I can’t believe we’re arguing about some man. That’s so silly. In fact, I’d rather talk about you and me.' Kaya continues: "(it's) a love note from a depraved bisexual, haha just kidding. No, it's Jolene as a queer anthem. Except it’s not a cover, it is a new tune. As the title declares: Jolene from her own perspective. Dolly forever." Watch the equally captivating video here now. -Holly Mullineaux
